THE TEAM

Hi, I am Dr.Sabine Plaschka, founder and director of the veterinary clinics „El Dogo Azul“ and now and today only one of the members of a fantastic team.

After having graduated in Madrid in 1983 and finished the phD with the qualification “cum laude” in 1986, I went to Germany, Cologne to work in a small animal practice as well as on the horse track until 1987. There I learnt to love this profession although every day was at least a 15hour day and we could be happy if we had 1 free weekend per month.

In 1988 I came back to the coast, in the beginning doing home visits based at my parents´ house. Using my first incomes, in march 1989 I opened the first practice in Artola together with my receptionist Astrid Hoffmeister. When my daughter was born in 1993 and the first vet joined us we founded the “El Dogo Azul” and from then onwards grew with every mother´s leave up to where we are today; 3 clinics, 5 permanent vets and 4 veterinary assistants plus several external collaborators.

I am very proud of this team, where each one of us day by day tries to give their best; that means lovingly taking care of the wellbeing of your pet at the same time as we have a good time getting joy out of doing a professional job.

ILMA. DR. OLVIDO TEJEDOR HUERTA

She graduated 1991 in Córdoba, got her phD with the qualification „cum laude” in 1997 and is a member of the „Real Academia de Ciencias Veterinaria“ since 2001. She has workede as a veterinarian in a small animal practice in Torremolinos in 1991 and in Málaga from 1992 to 1995.

ANA FERNANDEZ VILLAMEYTIDE

She is our vet from Asturias , a very nice region from the north of Spain and already started her practical years with us in 1992 and 93. When she then graduated in the University in León in 1993 she started working in „ El Dogo Azul“,building uo our clinic in La Campana and then moved over to Miraflores in Marbella, where she patiently and with a lot of care attends her loyal clientele.

PATRICIA RUIZ HOFFMANN

She is our youngest vet and only just graduated in Cordoba in 2003, but already shows a good diagnostical eye and organized “german” working, as well as a warm handling of the patients and clients.

JORGE LUQUE GARRIDO

He graduated in Córdoba in 1991, then worked as a employee in Malaga until 1992 and then opened his own practice in Alhamar, which he later moved over to Calahonda.

ASTRID HOFFMEISTER

She has been working with us since the very beginning in 1989,although in 1993 she went back to Germany and when she came back she worked in the family compny for some time. In 2004 luckily she came home to „El Dogo Azul“,where she now shares her enormous general knowledge regarding anything to do with dogs or cat with our clients. At the same time she organizes all of us with a tough hand.

BELEN AGUILERA LOPEZ

She is a veterinary assistant and working with „El Dogo Azul“ since 2002 and gives us a goodhumored hand where ever it is needed. She takes good care of the patients in our hospital,where she always has a kind word for the petowners who are not used to being separated from their little friends.

JUAN ANTONIO LARA JIMENEZ „BORJA“

He is also a professional ATV and has been working in „El Dogo Azul“ since 1999, mainly in charge of the reception in Miraflores and the hospital and surgery. He is doing the rehabilitation seminar in Madrid and will be joining Dr. Luque halfdays at the „REHAVET- rehabilitationcenter“

She has only been working for „ El Dogo Azul“ as a receptionist since end of 2006 and is slowly but steadily adapting to the coast and the new job.

We want to offer you a complete service in all areas, but sometimes we are missing the specialized knowledge and other times, because of family reasons (we are mostly parents) we don´t have the time to offer you a professional emergency-service. But luckily we have a broad choice of colleagues who will take care of all your needs here in our clinics.

He is a vet since 1983, graduated in the Iniversidad Complutense de Madrid, where he worked as a teacher from 1984 till 1991. During that time and until 2000 he had his own practice in the north of Madrid, but because of personal reasons he came to the coast in 2000. Since then through his company “Dogs and Cats Emergencies “ he does the emergencies for several clinics.

Sandra has been receptionist with us from 1993 first in Artola and later in Elviria until she wanted to make change in her life. One year later she restarted as a doggroomer and seems to have found her profession.
